Hi. Welcome to Mid Century Modern Mix. I’m Karen. What you do for fun often reveals more about you than what you do for a living, so I’ll start there.

I have a serious addiction for art and design. From a very young age, I’ve been analyzing the way things made me feel. I recognized what worked for me… and what didn’t. I began to create and recreate my surroundings. Eventually, I discovered that I always come back to Mid Century Modern. I hope I’m not dating myself.

Besides, my love for art and design, I’m a people person. I like getting to know the different ways in which everyone expresses their creativity. I like to kick around ideas. My favorite people are innovative. My top three favorite are my terrific daughters.

One of my other roles is an Architect. I’ve specialized in buying and remodeling fixer uppers, which in this economy, is no longer a risk I am willing to take. I’m currently exploring new avenues and taking small cautious steps in a different direction.

I live in New York City. I love going to museums and in the future I’d like to travel more.

Now, tell me about yourself? I’m hoping to get to know more of you who appreciate the same things I freak out over. Let’s share our passion, our projects, our finds, our collections and our favorite places to shop and spend time. Email your photos. I’d be happy to link back to your blog or please consider this blog as a place to share your enthusiasm. I’ll pull everything together and add them to the mix. Let’s see where this takes us.

Will you be doing a playscale version of Downton Abbey? That would be fun to view. Playscale as in Barbie-Ken-Joe size …?

I don’t see any links to follow your blog; I would be happy to do so if you enable that function here 😉

In the meantime, I will add your page title to the list of blogs I follow. Thanks for visiting my PhillyCollector blog. Please stop by again.

Thank you for your comments. I’ve been looking for playscale Downton Abbey things. I’ve only found a few things so far. But I was thinking about the characters. A dark haired Barbie would make the perfect Mary. Do remember Midge? I was thinking she’d be the perfect Edith. Alan ( now I’m really dating myself ) would be Matthew or maybe a later version of a light haired Ken. And Ken would be Thomas?? I’m sure there are many other Barbie dolls, available for all the other characters… more than there were when I played Barbie.
I’m going to ask my daughter about links. She is my web designer and developer. I’d be happy to link you to my site as well, and I will definitely be by your blog for more visits.
      Always make time to play,
